NUJ Niger State Council congratulates Aishatu Machedi on election as Kontagora LG Vice Chairman
The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Niger State Council, has congratulated Aishatu Ahmadu Machedi on her election as the Vice Chairman of Kontagora Local Government Council.
Aishatu Machedi, who also serves as the Vice Chairman of the NUJ Landmark FM Kontagora Chapel, was described by the Union as a shining example of determination, commitment, and leadership.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the Council, the State Secretary of NUJ, Comrade Usman Chiji, said Machedi’s victory is “well-deserved and unique by all standards,” reflecting her long-standing aspiration to contribute to grassroots development and improve the living standards of the people.
Comrade Chiji commended her courage to venture into a field traditionally dominated by men, noting that her success underscores the growing impact of women in leadership and politics.
He further urged her to deploy her journalistic experience to reshape public perception and encourage greater women participation in governance.
He expressed optimism that Aishatu Machedi will foster a strong working relationship between the Union and the Kontagora Local Government Council to promote effective dissemination of government policies and programmes.
The NUJ assured her of its continued support and cooperation, while praying for God’s guidance as she undertakes her new responsibilities in public service.
