PRIORITIZING WELLNESS: NAOWA 1 DIVISION CHAPTER MARKS WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
The Nigerian Army Officers’ Wives Association (NAOWA) 1 Division Chapter joined the rest of the world to commemorate the 2025 World Mental Health Day with a two-day event dedicated to promoting mental wellness among members and their families.
The activities commenced with an Awareness Walk on 11 October 2025, led by the Chairperson NAOWA 1 Division Chapter, Dr. (Mrs.) Halima Bamanga Tafida-Wase, during which members advocated for mental health awareness, emotional balance, and the importance of self-care in daily living.
The event continued on 12 October 2025 with a Seminar held at the Salamatu Farouk Yahaya Event Centre, Ribadu Cantonment, Kaduna, featuring a presentation by Professor Aisha Armayau, Chief Medical Director, Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Barnawa, Kaduna. She delivered an insightful lecture on practical strategies for managing stress, anxiety, and emotional fatigue.
In her remarks, Dr. (Mrs.) Tafida-Wase appreciated the NAOWA President, Mrs. Mernan Femi Oluyede, for initiating the nationwide observance of World Mental Health Day across NAOWA Chapters. She also expressed heartfelt gratitude to her husband, Major General A.S.M. Wase, for his continuous encouragement and support.
The event concluded with members expressing deep appreciation for the Chairperson’s inspiring leadership and unwavering commitment to promoting the welfare and holistic well-being of NAOWA families.
